Differences PHP and ASP

Posted by Informan on December 4, 2011

For webmasters who are just learning I just wanted to clarify a bitthat I get to the questions always asked what is the difference inPHP with ASP ..
For the layman about programming PHP and ASP websiteaccording to them is not much difference, in fact some say it is thelanguage Pemrprogram ASP from PHP ... following me explainthe difference between ASP and PHP ...?
ASP and PHP is a programming language used to create websites. Unlike normal HTML web pages, ASP and PHP is moredynamic and able to make the users can interact and exchange information with the database website.

ASP stands for Active Server Pages, a type of program that worksin Microsoft (Windows) via IIS (Internet Information Server). ASPrequires a Microsoft server to run the website. Meanwhile, PHP orHypertext Preprocessor programs run on Linux or Unix servers. The more recent PHP can run on the NT server.

PHP programs can also run on Windows, Solaris, Unix and Linuxwhile ASP can only be run on servers with the Windows platform.Just recently, the ASP can run on Linux platforms that exist onlywhen the ASP-Apache installed on the server.
If you are a programmer proficient in C + +, you may be moreconvenient to use PHP instead of ASP. PHP using C / C + + asprogramming language and the most basic syntax is similar between each other. Since most programmers still use C + + language, PHP is becoming more popular than with ASP.

ASP more similar to the syntax and its interface Visual Basic programming. That's because Visual Basic is essentiallycorrelated with the products and programs made by Microsoft. So if you are a programmer, the selection between ASP and PHP programming language is actually based on where the mostyou are good at.
When compared in terms of cost and kemahalannya, ASPprogram requires Windows with IIS installed on the server. Youmust purchase both components so that ASP can run. Instead, PHP will only need a Linux server that you can get them for free.

PHP is very flexible when connected to the database. PHP canconnect to several databases which are mostly used is MySQL.Please note that MySQL will not even cost you a cent dollars. Butif you want to use ASP, you need to buy MS-SQL, Microsoftproducts.
Load speed is a major factor in maintaining the website. If you are very selective about the speed, you probably need PHP.Basically the PHP code run faster than ASP because it runs in itsown space while ASP uses an additional server and use COM-based architecture.
In working with PHP, most of the tools associated with programs that mostly in the form of open source software, so you do not have to pay to get the tool. Unlike ASP that may require us topurchase additional tools to work with this program.

In conclusion: Both PHP and ASP have advantages anddisadvantages. Basically, all depend on the development sitewhich would you choose. Are you worried about the cost ofmaking your website? Do you want to use a programminglanguage that is familiar to you? Do you want a website that is more stable and faster? Selection between ASP and PHPbasically depends on your own preferences. We suggest younegotiate with other programmers or webmasters and search as much information on the programming code which is most appropriate to your website.
